How do I book a photography session?

How far in advance should I book?
I recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially if you have a specific date or season in mind. Fall sessions, weekends, and special events may require additional planning.
Where do photography sessions take place?
Sessions can take place in outdoor locations, rural settings, or places that are meaningful to you. Whether it’s a favorite park, an open field, or your family farm, we can discuss a location that fits your vision.
What if I don’t know where I want my photos taken?
That’s completely okay! I’m happy to help brainstorm locations based on the style you’re looking for. Sometimes the simplest places make the best backdrops.
Preparing for Your Session
What should I wear for my photography session?
Choose clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Neutral tones, earthy colors, and coordinating outfits photograph beautifully, especially in outdoor and rural settings. For group sessions, try choosing colors that complement each other rather than matching exactly.
What if I’m awkward in front of the camera?
You’re definitely not alone! You don’t need to know how to pose or have everything figured out. I’ll provide direction throughout the session while leaving room for natural interactions and genuine expressions.
Can I bring my pets to my session?
Absolutely! Pets are an important part of the family, too. Just let me know ahead of time so we can choose an appropriate location and plan for their participation.
Do you photograph farms, livestock, and agricultural activities?
Yes! Agriculture is a special part of Rural Roots Photography MN. From livestock and farm portraits to rural landscapes and everyday agricultural life, I love documenting the people, animals, and places that make country living unique.
Pricing & Photo Delivery
How much does a photography session cost?
Session pricing depends on the type of photography you’re looking for. Portrait sessions start at $100, agriculture and rural sessions start at $150, and family sessions start at $200. Event photography is priced according to coverage needs.

How many photographs will I receive?
The number of edited photographs depends on your selected package. Portrait sessions include 10 or more images, agriculture and rural sessions include 15 or more, and family sessions include 20 or more. Event gallery sizes depend on the coverage provided.
How will I receive my photographs?
Your finished photographs will be delivered through an online gallery, making it easy to view your images and enjoy your favorites.
Can I request specific photographs or poses?
Of course! If you have particular ideas, groupings, or meaningful details you’d like captured, feel free to share them before your session. I love incorporating personal touches that make your photographs feel like you.
